Our History

From the Institute of Pottery Development to a Modern Technical Institution

The story of our institution began in 1938, when it was established as the Institute of Pottery Development.

The institution was founded around the development and promotion of pottery skills and gradually evolved in response to the changing needs of technical education, industry and the ceramics sector.

Over the decades, its scope expanded beyond traditional pottery to encompass modern ceramics technology, glass-related technical education, laboratory training, production processes and vocational skills development.

Today, as a Government College of Technology operating under TEVTA Punjab, the institution continues this legacy by combining the knowledge of traditional craftsmanship with modern technical education.

Our heritage is not simply a part of our history—it is the foundation upon which we continue to build the future.
